Before I dive into this, I first want to say that in no way is it in my heart to point fingers or throw stones. It is only my desire to share what I believe the Lord has put on my heart to speak regarding the Trump prophecies and all of the confusion surrounding the prophetic over the last year or two. This will be followed with several posts on this subject.
INTO THE BELLY OF THE WHALE
We missed it. We as a prophetic community as a whole missed it. I believe that over the last two years God has put much of the prophetic community into the belly of the whale. What is the purpose of the belly of the whale?
Darkness to Evaluate Vision
In the stomach of the fish we are swallowed by darkness where we can't see with our natural eyes. Here in the dark, we have opportunity to examine the spiritual health of our eyes. This darkness has been an invitation for Seers to seek the true Light source and to recognize and renounce any false lights influencing our vision.
"But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!" -Matthew 6:23 NLT
Bleach to Remove Stains
There is a bleaching that happens in stomach acid. God is actively coming after mixture, secret sins, wrong heart motives, seeking glory for our selves, pride, people pleasing, greed, and lust. It we surrender to this bleaching process, God will work in us to remove the stains and blemishes on our garments. Jesus is coming for a spotless bride.
"I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent." -Revelation 3:18-19
Isolation to Return to First Love
In the belly of the whale solitude and isolation were forced upon us. Our ministry schedules were cleared and stages were emptied. In this silence, God made abundant space for us to be alone in His presence and return to our first love and primary posture...on our knees before Him.
"Let him sit alone in silence, for God has disciplined him." -Lamentations 3:28
Measured and Weighed
God's purpose has been to bring correction, humbling, and a turnaround in the prophetic community. God is looking for those who will fully repent, surrender, and obey Him. I believe the individual response to this season of the belly of the whale will be the determining factor for whether God will use that person as His mouthpiece in the future. Yes, I believe prophets and prophetic voices are being measured and weighed in the balance. How we choose to respond to God's discipline now will determine our future.
“I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” -Jeremiah 17:10
Let's get honest with ourselves. Let's come out of denial. A purging of the prophetic is taking place. Let's humble ourselves and repent for where we have got it wrong. Let's own our mistakes. Let's welcome the purifying fire of God to test us and refine us.
Let's come out of the belly of the whale seeing clearly, dressed in white, committed to our First Love, and speaking forth truth with conviction in obedience to God's Word.
